More Health Visitors
Another cohort have graduated and made it into the workforce. We have uplift too which means an increase in funded establishment. Students are everywhere at every base , at every chair , on every phone. There are many more to come in order to grow the workforce.

Reaching Graduation
The first new recruits from the increased establishment will soon be novice practitioners to be nurtured and supported. This feels rather good but there is still work to be done.

Hundreds to be interviewed
Hundreds of potential nurses are wanting to be health visitors and they are all soon to be interviewed for training places. It is a mass new way of recruiting to an exciting profession but I have reservations about the feasibility of sustaining such a large influx of new entrants.

How many new health visitors?
Interesting times about to begin with a huge poorly communicated agenda and lack of planned support.

More health visitors needed
Interesting to see that there is a drive to recruit thousands more from the existing pool of nurses, midwives and leavers. That will have a major effect on the rest of health visiting and nursing. Quality v Quantity and the existing workforce are major considerations as when extra Maths teachers were required recruitment and retention premiums appeared.Interesting times indeed as will the existing workforce remain or will it shrink as people take early retirement to maintain a good work life balance.

Delayed diagnosis affects survival?
No surprise here that some medics send some patients on a safari to remove them from the consulting room. Result is a final diagnosis that could have come earlier had the initial assessment been thorough and possible options considered.
